makeover monday | a play nook

20 January 2014
welcome to adrian's place!

as you might know, we recently moved into a new home. like many houses, we do not have a designated space that we can use as a playroom (i was sure to call "dibs" on the spare room for the LoveLee studio space!). and like most families, we have a surplus of toys and books that could easily take over our entire house.

lucky for us, there is a walk-in closet directly off of the space that we use as our family room. my husband and i excitedly decided on our first house project: to turn this closet into adrian's very own play nook.

i decided on a neutral gray wall paint because i wanted adrian's colorful toys to pop.  we used some of the animal artwork from his old nursery, combined with a photo collage of his first-year-monthly chalkboard photos to make it personal. most importantly, we added shelving and baskets at adrian's level so he can reach for those toys and books as needed!

the moral of this makeover monday? sometimes you need to think outside of the box when you're pinching for some extra space!
